Hello Chestnut TAG students and families! My name is Mrs. Adero and I'm excited to be your 7th ELA teacher this year.  I have taught middle school ELA for over 14 years in the Springfield, MA area.

COVID19 UPDATE:  Distance Learning materials for ELA are available weekly on Unified Classroom and Microsoft Teams.

My preferred method of contact is via email: aderol@springfieldpublicschools.com  I generally respond to emails within 1 business day.

In addition, I do use the Remind application.  Please email me for the Remind code for your student's ELA class.

The 7th grade Team uses a consistent grading policy.  Below is a breakdown of how your student's work will be graded.

ELA Curriculum

7th grade ELA students spend the majority of their classes reading and writing about fictional and nonfictional texts.  In addition to tests, quizzes, and other assessments given throughout the year, students are expected to write narrative, persuasive, and argumentative essays and present 2-3 projects per quarter.  Our  lessons align with the MA Curriculum Standards and are reflective of Engage NY modules.
